(FREEPORT, ROOSEVELT and UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) joined more than 75 volunteers in supporting the “Sound the Alarm” initiative on Wednesday, April 23. Coordinated by the American Red Cross with a focus upon Freeport, Roosevelt and Uniondale, Legislator Koslow and the team of volunteers fanned out throughout the communities to install free smoke alarms for residents.
“With a working smoke alarm in your home, the risk of perishing in a fire decreases by half – and the American Red Cross should be commended for making local families safer by spearheading the ‘Sound the Alarm’ program,” Legislator Koslow said. “It was a privilege to be a part of a potentially life-saving initiative that protects our communities.”
