(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislators Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) and Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) welcomed Superintendent Ms. Fia Davis to the helm of Freeport Public Schools on Thursday, Sept. 19. She succeeds Dr. Kishore Kuncham, who retired earlier this summer after 30 years of dedicated service to the school district.
“As a former PTA and school board member whose children thrived in Freeport schools, I’m excited about the future and looking forward to working together to strengthen the collaborative bonds between our schools and local government,” Legislator Mulé said. “I congratulate Ms. Davis on becoming the next leader of our school community and am excited to begin working with her to build a brighter future for our students and community!”
“Strong schools are a catalyst for the growth and success of the students they serve, and Ms. Davis has a track record that beautifully illustrates the power of public education to change lives,” Legislator Koslow said. “Welcome to the Freeport School District – I’m looking forward to working together to continue supporting the students, staff, and families across the Freeport community.”
