Mulé and Koslow Vote For $293K Intermunicipal Agreement to Fund Freeport Village Cop Cars

(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislators Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) and Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) voted on Monday, Sept. 23 to approve an intermunicipal agreement that will deliver $293,000 in County funding to enhance public safety in the Incorporated Village of Freeport. The funds, which were approved unanimously by the full Nassau County Legislature, will be utilized for the purchase of six new police cars and related equipment.

“Village police departments are essential links in our regional public safety matrix, and it is vital to ensure they are properly resourced and always positioned to excel,” Legislator Mulé said. “I was proud to vote in favor of an agreement that once again demonstrates Nassau County’s commitment to public safety.”

“Nassau County continues to be the safest municipality of its size in America because we properly fund our police and give them the best training to ensure they perform their duties at the highest level,” Legislator Koslow said. “Approving this funding for Freeport PD further illustrates our commitment to law enforcement, and I was happy to cast my vote in favor of this vital initiative.”
