Koslow Partners with Nassau Police Department To Offer Free Car Seat Safety Checks in Merrick

WHAT: Nassau County Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) is partnering with the Nassau County Police Department’s Office of Community Affairs and Nassau County’s Department of Traffic Safety to provide free Child Car Seat Safety Checks outside the Curé of Ars Rectory in Merrick on Wednesday, Oct. 9.

Certified technicians will apply their expertise toward ensuring car seats are properly installed and providing optimal protection. Residents with children who use car seats or booster seats are encouraged to have their car seats professionally checked. To aid in the inspection and installation, seats and surrounding areas should be wiped down and cleared of loose items prior to arrival.

“As a father of young children, my family and I know how important it is to ensure our car seats are safely installed – and I also know how tricky that can be, especially for first-time parents,” Legislator Koslow said. “If you regularly have the privilege driving for a youngster, I encourage you to call my office and make an appointment so that you and your loved ones can have the security and peace of mind you deserve.”

Appointments are required. Contact Legislator Koslow’s office at 516-571-6205 or skoslow@nassaucountyny.gov for additional information and to make an appointment.

WHEN: 9 a.m. – noon on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024
