(MERRICK, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) and his family commemorated Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 15 by supporting the Merrick Jewish Centre’s annual MLK Mitzvah Day.
Filled with service activities for all ages, Mitzvah Day volunteers made pillows and blankets, cooked soup, packed and wrapped birthday boxes, and crafted cards filled with encouraging messages for recipients.
“Giving tzedakah to those in need is a wonderful way that the Jewish community and all of us can connect with Dr. King’s legacy of selfless service,” Legislator Koslow said. “It was a pleasure spending the morning at the Merrick Jewish Centre and sharing the spirit of Dr. King’s message with my children on such a meaningful day.”
