(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month in the Incorporated Village of Freeport on Thursday, Oct. 10. During a special event hosted at the Freeport Recreation Center, Legislator Koslow joined attendees in exploring the theme “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together” as they honored Bayview Avenue School teacher Martha Bermeo; Freeport Fire Department Hose Co. No. 2 volunteer Christian Delacruz, and Freeport PD officer Alfredo Ruiz.
“Hispanic Heritage Month is a wonderful time to celebrate the many contributions made by Hispanic Americans, and it especially meaningful in Freeport, where the vibrant influences of so many Hispanic nations add to so much to our beautiful cultural tapestry,” Legislator Koslow said. “Congratulations to the honorees for all you do in the Freeport community and thank you to the Atkinson School’s sixth-grade mariachi band for a memorable performance!”
