WHAT: Nassau County Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) is partnering with assessment expert Jeff Gold, a former member of the Nassau County Board of Assessors and a former commissioner of the Assessment Review Commission (ARC), to host an in-person assessment grievance workshop at the North Merrick Public Library at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
During this workshop – Legislator Koslow’s second in-person workshop with Gold this cycle and fourth overall during this grievance period - Gold will show taxpayers who disagree with their assessment how to navigate the online grievance process and dispute their assessment. The deadline to file a grievance is Monday, March 3.
“Jeff Gold has decades of experience navigating Nassau County’s assessment system, and his knowledge and insight will be tremendously helpful to homeowners who are looking to file a grievance without paying an outside firm to do it,” Legislator Koslow said. “I am grateful to Jeff for once again offering his expertise to the public at this free workshop, and I implore every property owner to protect themselves and their families from over-taxation under Nassau County’s broken and inaccurate assessment system by filing a grievance by March 3.”
