(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview), Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) and Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) proudly joined their colleagues in government from both Nassau and Suffolk Counties at the Mid Island Y JCC in Plainview on Thursday, March 27 for the biannual meeting of the American Jewish Commission (AJC) Long Island’s Municipal Leaders Against Antisemitism initiative. There, a group of dozens of leaders discussed best practices in reporting and combating antisemitism.
“At a time when incidents of antisemitism across America and throughout the world are occurring with shocking frequency, endeavors such as the Long Island’s Municipal Leaders Against Antisemitism initiative are essential for eradicating this hateful scourge from our society,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “I am proud to be a part of this task force and thankful for the message that it sends – that hatred will never be tolerated on Long Island.”
“The promise of America is that every person will be judged upon their deeds and the content of their character. Antisemitism is a direct affront from that principle, and we have a duty as civic leaders to confront it wherever it may lurk,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “AJC-LI does tremendous work in pursuit of this key mission, and I thank them for bringing us together to build strategies through this vital initiative.”
“Bigotry is a blight upon our society that must be confronted and defeated – and the consistent, bipartisan support for AJC-LI’s initiative makes it clear that there is zero tolerance for antisemitism anywhere on Long Island,” Legislator Koslow said. “In these difficult and unprecedented times, I applaud AJC-LI for their continued leadership and steadfast commitment to ending hate.”
