(GARDEN CITY, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) congratulated District 16 students who received the Jewish Community Relations Council LI’s (JCRC-LI) Students Building Bridges award during the Nassau County Holocaust Remembrance Day Commemoration event at Adelphi University on Tuesday, May 7.

Deputy Minority Leader Drucker presented Nassau County Legislature Citations to Jericho High School’s Evan Peykar; Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK High School’s Joshua Lipetz and Rebecca Lipetz; and Syosset High School’s Rose Cohen and Skylar Silverman in recognition of their exemplary work in the pursuit of a more civil society.

In addition to recognizing dozens of Nassau students, Holocaust survivor Leo S. Ullman was honored, and Rabbi Joel Levenson received the JCRC-LI Rabs Award during the ceremony.

“The Building Bridges award highlights the best and the brightest of Nassau County’s young leaders, and at such a fraught time in our history, it is so important to focus our attention on efforts that will bring us back together as a society,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “An event like this one gives me great hope for a better future, and I thank Mindy Perlmutter, Robyn Berman and the entire team at JCRC-LI for their leadership.
