(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D - Plainview) was part of a bipartisan coalition of his colleagues in government that lent their support to Island Harvest’s inaugural Spring Harvest food drive on Friday, April 30. The regional drive, which included a drop-off location at the Mid Island Y JCC (pictured above), was devised as a new way to reach supporters and increase donations to address increased rates of hunger during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Each year, Island Harvest provides nutritious meals for hundreds of thousands of Long Islanders who face food insecurity. However, since the start of the pandemic, the need for assistance has dramatically increased, making the mission of organizations like Island Harvest even more essential,” Legislator Drucker said. “I applaud Island Harvest for addressing the needs of those families and bringing Long Islanders together to help support their neighbors in their time of need.
