(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) joined the Greater Long Island Running Club, volunteers, community members, and local community sponsors in saluting Plainview and Syosset Hospital’s Emergency Departments during the “Heart and Sole 5K Run/Walk Race” at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School on Sunday, July 18.
Race proceeds will benefit the Plainview Hospital cardiac catheterization lab, a state-of-the-art facility which utilizes X-ray guided catheters to help clear blockages in arteries and perform minimally invasive heart surgeries and procedures.
“When our neighbors experience a serious illness, community hospitals are often the first stop in their moment of need, and it is essential for us to do all we can to ensure they are always equipped to deliver top-notch care,” Legislator Drucker said. “I am so thankful to the runners who signed up for this year’s ‘Heart and Sole’ 5K and all of the volunteers and sponsors who made this event such a great success.”
