Drucker Applauds Approval of Key Contracts for Round Swamp Road Roundabout Project

(FARMINGDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) is pleased to announce the approval of key contracts for the reconstruction of the Round Swamp Road roundabout at Quaker Meeting House Road and Thomas Powell Boulevard in Farmingdale.

Leading up to the conclusion of its 2024 business, the Legislature’s Rules committee approved a $3,342,066 contract with Macedo Construction for the project and a $1,218,832 contract with McLean Associated Engineering and Surveying for construction management services.

County officials said that the work will be finished in time for the September 2025 Ryder Cup, which will be held at the legendary Bethpage Black golf course. Earlier this fall, the Legislature approved $5.8 million in capital bond authorization to fund the project.

“The completion of this vital upgrade to Round Swamp Road will not only prepare Nassau County to become a global showcase for one of the world’s greatest golf events, but it will also make Round Swamp Road safer for Nassau motorists long after the tournament’s final putt,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “I am glad to see that this project is advancing and will soon be delivering long-term traffic safety benefits for 16th District residents.”
