(SYOSSET, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) is advising Syosset residents about upcoming railroad repairs that will temporarily disrupt traffic at the Syosset-Woodbury Road crossing.
Weather permitting, MTA officials said Syosset-Woodbury Road is scheduled to be closed between Arizona Avenue and Jerome Road from 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 to 5 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 9 and 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13 to 5 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 16. Officials said electronic signs have been placed at the crossing to provide advance notice, and MTA police will be deployed to the site. Motorists are encouraged to use South Woods Road and Jackson Avenue as alternatives while work is underway.
“Syosset’s LIRR station is a center of commerce for our community and a major hub for thousands of commuters on a daily basis,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “My office will be closely monitoring this project to ensure it is finished expeditiously, and we appreciate your understanding as these important mass transit infrastructure repairs are completed.”
