(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) joined his colleagues in government, higher education and local law enforcement at Nassau Community College on Friday, Sept. 6 to commemorate the approaching 23rd anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks that struck New York City, Washington D.C. and Shanksville, Penn.
“On that morning, places like Nassau Community College became more than institutions of higher learning as people called upon each other for strength and as grappled with the unthinkable loss,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker, who served on the Nassau Community College Board of Trustees from 2012 until joining the Legislature in 2016, said. “As we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 victims who perished nearly 23 years ago, let us honor their memory by remaining unwavering in our gratitude for our heroic first responders and steadfast in our commitment to caring for all who continue to suffer from illnesses and trauma in the aftermath of a day that forever changed our nation.”
