(PLAINVIEW, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D - Plainview) joined clergy members and congregants at Temple Chaverim’s “Shabbat Under the Stars” on Friday, May 21 to celebrate Cantor Brad Hyman’s contributions to the local Jewish community.
During his tenure, Cantor Hyman earned a reputation as an exceptional spiritual leader who became known for a liturgical style that has become the gold standard for Cantors around the world and his fierce advocacy for social justice and equality. Now, after 17 years, the esteemed vocalist, instrumentalist and Cantor beyond compare is leaving the Plainview congregation to pursue new aspirations.
“While we will all miss Cantor Hyman’s exceptional musical talents and deep commitment to Temple Chaverim’s congregants, his accomplishments during the last 17 years have made our community stronger and more vibrant,” Legislator Drucker said. “I wish him all the best as he embarks upon this new chapter in his life and continues to share his talents in other parts of the country, where they will be so fortunate to have him.”
