Drucker on Governor’s Request for Major Disaster Declaration After Unprecedented September Rainstorm

(MINEOLA, N.Y.) – On Wednesday, Nov. 29, New York State Governor Kathy Hochul announced her request for a Major Disaster Declaration related to a substantial late-September rainstorm that deluged Nassau County. 

The following statement is from Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) -

“September’s historic rainstorm deluged our region and exposed key vulnerabilities in our infrastructure,” Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) said. “By pursuing a major disaster declaration, New York State is taking a key step toward helping residents fully recover from the storm and equipping municipalities to best prepare for the extreme weather events that are becoming ever more common. I thank the Governor for her advocacy and continued focus upon this critical issue.”
