Give A Pint, Save a Life - and See the Mets!

Deputy Minority Leader Drucker, NY Blood Center and Syosset FD

Team Up to Host Community Blood Drive

(SYOSSET, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) is encouraging residents to step up to the plate to save a life as he partners with the New York Blood Center and Syosset Fire Department to host a blood drive from 1 – 7 p.m. on Friday, June 28.

At the blood drive, which will be held at the Syosset Fire Department, 50 Cold Spring Road, Syosset, all donors will receive a pair of New York Mets tickets and a Mets t-shirt as thanks for giving the gift of life.

“As Long Island’s blood emergency continues, it is more important than ever for all of us who are able to roll up their sleeves and be a part of the solution,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “Whether you are a routine donor, one who hasn’t given in a while or even a first-time donor, now is the time to make an amazin’ impact – and as a lifelong Mets fan, I am extremely grateful to my favorite team for partnering with us in this life-saving endeavor.”

Eligible donors must have an ID with a signature or a photo, weigh at least 110 pounds, have had no tattoos in the last 12 months and be ages 16-75 years of age (16-year-old donors must have parental consent. Donors over age 76 must bring a doctor’s note.) O-negative and B-negative donors are especially needed in addition to all other blood types.

Appointments are preferred but not required; walk-ins will be taken as capacity permits. Visit https://donate.nybc.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/324220 to reserve a spot, or call Sharon at 516-790-1644 to make an appointment.
