Drucker Applauds Biden Administration’s Move to Ban Discrimination in Healthcare

(MINEOLA, N.Y.) Earlier today, the Biden administration and the Department of Health issued new policies that bar healthcare providers and other health-related organizations that receive federal funding from discriminating against patients based on sexual orientation or gender identity, thereby reversing discriminatory policies enacted by the previous Presidential administration.

Following this announcement, Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D - Plainview) said:

"By applying the weight of federal law to reaffirm the dignity of every transgender American, the federal government is helping to cultivate an atmosphere in which vulnerable members of this community can pursue the comprehensive, specialized care they need without fear of discrimination. As a longtime advocate and ally of the LGBTQ+ community, I am delighted and relieved that the Biden administration has taken action that will surely save lives across
