(OLD BETHPAGE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) joined community leaders and his colleagues in government at the Museum of American Armor on Tuesday, Dec. 17, where plans were announced for a yearlong series of program to mark the 80th anniversary of the Sept. 2, 1945 conclusion of World War II. During the event, Deputy Minority Leader Drucker had the privilege of meeting Farmingdale resident and World War II veteran Morton Abuhoff and thanking him for his service to America and the world.
“Through their victory in World War II, the Allied forces changed the course of history and freed Europe and the world from the evil clutches of Nazism and fascism – and the service of men like Morton Abuhoff was instrumental in achieving that outcome,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker said. “I thank Gary Lewi and his team at the Museum of American Armor for spearheading such a worthwhile effort, and I look forward to participating in future events commemorating this significant milestone.”
