Local Not-for-Profits Receive Proceeds of Koslow Winter Coat Drive

Koslow - Coat Drive followup

(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – Winter coats donated in support of a coat drive hosted by Nassau County Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) and the Freeport-Merrick Rotary Club are being put to good use this weekend. On Thursday, Jan. 16, Legislator Koslow’s office delivered coats to Melissa Harris, founder of Melissa Meals and Ministry, and Regina Hurt, founder of Feed the Community. Both are Freeport-based not-for-profit organizations, and they will be distributing coats during an event in Hempstead on Sunday, Jan. 19 as they cook to feed needy and homeless people in the community. “Local not-for-profit organizations are instrumental in grassroot efforts to identify and address needs in our community,” Legislator Koslow said. “We are so thankful to Melissa and Regina for their dedication to serving others and for helping us ensure these coats reach those who need them most!”
