(EAST MEADOW, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D - Merrick) and his daughter joined the participants, supporters, and parents of Girls on the Run Long Island’s latest season at Eisenhower Park on Saturday, Dec. 3 for their annual 5K celebration.
Girls on the Run Long Island’s mission is focused on teaching participants critical life skills through research-based programs. Meeting in small teams, trained volunteer coaches inspire girls of all abilities to strengthen confidence and other important life skills through dynamic, interactive lessons and physical activity. Each season concludes with a celebratory 5K - an event that is designed to give participants of all abilities a tangible sense of accomplishment.
“The success of Girls on the Run’s 5k is a perfect conclusion to a season of programs and experiences that instill a sense of confidence in our next generation of leaders and position them to excel in all they do,” Legislator Koslow said. “As a ‘girl dad’ myself, it was especially meaningful to be a part of this event and cheer on these outstanding women as they prepare to fearlessly chase their dreams and achieve their full potential.”
