(MERRICK, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) joined the Merrick Fire Department at Empire Hose Co. 3 on Sunday, Jan. 12 for the Department’s annual Installation of Officers ceremony. There, Legislator Koslow congratulated incoming 2025 Chief of Department Ronnie J. Gies and thanked outgoing 2024 Chief of Department, Joseph I. Miner for his dedicated service. “For generations, the storied history of Long Island’s volunteer fire service has been instrumental in the remarkable standard of public safety that Nassau County residents enjoy – and the leaders and members of the Merrick Fire Department write new chapters of that story on a daily basis through their selfless service,” Legislator Koslow said. “Your commitment to keeping our community safe is truly appreciated, and we wish you all safety and success in your continued service!”
