Koslow Calls on Bruce Blakeman to Apologize for Hypocritical Exclusion from Veterans' Event

PRESS RELEASE - Legislator Seth Koslow Calls on Bruce Blakeman to Apologize for Hypocritical Exclusi

(BETHPAGE, NY) – Today, Nassau County Legislator Seth Koslow called upon County Executive Bruce Blakeman to apologize for his hypocritical decision to exclude Koslow from a public event honoring Nassau County veterans simply because the event was not held in Koslow's legislative district.

"It’s deeply insulting to suggest honoring our veterans should be limited by political boundaries," Koslow said. "Did the veterans being honored need to reside in Lynbrook to attend? Of course not. The event was open to the public, and my removal was purely political. Bruce Blakeman owes an apology—not just to me, but to every veteran who deserves respect and appreciation regardless of political geography."

The event took place at the Bethpage Community Center in Bethpage. Legislator Koslow, a longstanding advocate for Nassau County veterans, was asked to leave because the event was not within his legislative district, despite the event's open and public nature.

Blakeman’s Hypocrisy on Crime: Silence on Trump-Commuted Jonathan Braun's Latest Heinous Act

Koslow further pointed out Blakeman’s hypocrisy regarding crime enforcement in relation to today’s arrest of Jonathan Braun, a convicted drug trafficker whose 10-year federal sentence for running a violent international smuggling operation was commuted by former President Donald Trump after Braun served only one year. Braun, who resides in Lawrence within Blakeman’s former council district, was arrested today for allegedly forcibly touching his child’s nanny, entering her room without consent, and molesting her, according to court documents.

"Bruce Blakeman frequently portrays himself as tough on crime," Koslow continued. "Yet he remains silent when someone politically connected to his party, residing in his own district, commits such a reprehensible act and is swiftly released on bail. Does justice only apply when convenient for your political allies, Mr. Blakeman?"

Legislator Koslow calls on Bruce Blakeman to issue an immediate apology for the politically motivated exclusion from the veterans' event and demands an immediate public comment regarding Braun’s dangerous re-release.
