Seth I. Koslow Named Ranking Member of Nassau Legislature’s Public Safety Committee

(MINEOLA, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) was named ranking member of the Legislature’s influential Public Safety committee on Friday, Jan. 3 – a new role which will further empower Legislator Koslow to oversee and advocate for critical initiatives to keep Nassau County residents safe.

Drawing upon the experience he gained serving as a prosecutor and defense attorney and his immersion in the diverse communities of the Fifth District, Legislator Koslow has developed a unique perspective on the issue of public safety. He will bring these insights to his new committee assignment as he works with law enforcement and community leaders to strengthen community bonds, preserve and enhance public safety, and promote solutions for improving enforcement of gun laws and hiring officers to tackle hate crimes.

“As a father of three young children, it is my top priority as a public servant to fight for what every Nassau County resident deserves – safe and welcoming community to raise our families in,” Legislator Koslow said. “The Public Safety committee serves an instrumental role in equipping our police to serve and protect our communities, and as its ranking member, I am looking forward to applying my insights as an attorney toward advancing policies that will deliver effective, respectful community policing that keeps Nassau County the safest municipality of its size in America.”
