(ROOSEVELT, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislators Scott M. Davis (D – Rockville Centre) and Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) commemorated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the Memorial Presbyterian Church’s second annual MLK Unity March and Cultural Celebration in Roosevelt on Monday, Jan. 20.
“Memorial Presbyterian Church leads a moving tribute to Dr. King that serves as a stark reminder of his sacrifice and teachings and the necessary work ahead of us all,” Legislator Davis said. “Marching through Roosevelt with the congregation – which includes many Hempstead residents – was especially meaningful and heartwarming this year because of the strong turnout on a bitterly cold day, and we all thank Reverend Scott Williams and First Lady Donette for continuing this important tradition in our community.”
“Dr. King’s legacy is an inspiration for us all as we continue to fight for a future that is free of senseless bigotry and built upon the principles of liberty and justice for all,” Legislator Koslow said. “I was grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this observance and extend my gratitude to Reverend Scott Williams and First Lady Donette for their efforts to foster greater unity and understanding in Nassau County.”
