(HUNTINGTON, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) joined the leaders of supporters of The Cedarmore Corporation at Oheka Castle in Huntington on Saturday, March 15 to congratulate the honorees of that evening’s “Lifting as we Climb” Women’s History Month celebration and fundraiser.
The evening’s honorees included Mother Lerrell Turner of Zion Cathedral Church of God in Christ; Lakeview’s Dr. Michele C. Reed; Maria Casini, CEO of Visual Fuel Design and Chair of the Malverne Chamber of Commerce; Dr. Valerie Daniels-Cater, President and CEO of V&J Foods Holding Companies LLC; Hempstead NAACP leader, businesswoman and community advocate Candace Aguirre Holley; Uniondale UFSD Superintendent Dr. Monique Darrisaw-Akil; Freeport-Roosevelt NAACP President Donna Raphael; and Westbury makeup artist, entrepreneur and community advocate Shameika Simmons.
Proceeds of the event support Cedarmore’s Girlz Talk - a series of critical conversations, interactive workshops and keynotes designed to educate and empower girls ages 11 and up.
