(FREEPORT, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) joined her colleagues in local government at William F. Glacken Park on Friday, April 29 to celebrate the start of Freeport Little League’s 70th anniversary season.
Freeport Little League provides an array of competitive opportunities for boys and girls ages 4 to 16. Last year, they launched an affordable travel team to create additional opportunities for players to sharpen their skills in the summer and fall months.
“It is always a wonderful sign of spring’s arrival when the young people of our community take to the baseball diamond,” Legislator Mulé said. “We’re all so thankful to Freeport Little League President Jennifer Lascala-Gomez for her tireless efforts, and to all of the wonderful sponsors who have made it possible for Freeport’s youth to say ‘Play Ball!’ every spring for the last 70 years.”
