Legislator Debra Mulé is this Month’s P.A.R.P Reader at New Visions Elementary School
(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) met some of her district’s youngest residents during a visit to the New Visions Elementary School in Freeport, where she had the privilege of reading to Ms. Kugelmass’ fourth-grade class. Each year, New Visions Elementary School hosts Pick-A-Reading-Partner (PARP), a New York State PTA educational initiative in which reading partners, such as parents, relatives and elected officials are invited as special guests to read to students. During her visit, Legislator Mulé read “Arnie the Doughnut” by Laurie Keller and then led a question-and-answer session.
“As a former School Board trustee and PTA mom, I will never lose my passion for promoting reading and cultivating a love of literacy in our youth,” Legislator Mulé said. “It was a pleasure to be a part of New Visions Pick-A-Reading-Partner program, and I thank Ms. Kugelmass’ class for inviting me.”
