(FREEPORT, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) attended the Incorporated Village of Freeport’s Veterans Day ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Held outside the Freeport Memorial Library, the socially distanced ceremony was dedicated to the memory and service of U.S. Marine Corps Sergeant Robert Hendricks, who was killed April 8 when his armored vehicle struck a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.
“Veterans Day is an opportunity to reaffirm our gratitude for all those who answered the call to serve in our nation’s armed forces,” Legislator Mulé said. “Their selfless, courageous service is embodied in the legacy of Sgt. Hendricks, who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the values and ideals we strive to uphold. Today and always, we are grateful for their service to the United States of America.”
