(FREEPORT, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) recognized Sabrina Guo, founder of the student-run Long Island Laboring Against COVID-19 (LILAC) for donating personal protective equipment (PPE) during the Freeport School District’s grab-and-go meals program on Friday, Aug. 7.
Sabrina, a rising sophomore at Syosset High School, has raised $81,000 to provide communities across Long Island with PPE kits. She used $40,000 of her own college and personal funds to start LILAC and pursue a mission to providing PPE, meals and encouragement to those in need. Thus far, Sabrina has donated approximately 120,000 PPE kits to frontline health professionals, essential workers, and high-risk communities.
