(OCEANSIDE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) honored Nydia White, nurse manager for the critical care unit at Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital for her service to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic. Legislator Mulé presented White, a Fifth Legislative District constituent who resides in Freeport, with a Nassau County Citation, a bouquet of flowers and a gift certificate as a token of appreciation.
“Nydia White is emblematic of the many heroes in healthcare who provided comfort and compassionate care to our community during the darkest days of the pandemic,” Legislator Mulé said. “It was true honor and privilege to celebrate her leadership and contributions to our region’s ongoing COVID-19 response.”
White was featured in Mount Sinai South Nassau’s ‘Behind the Mask’ ad campaign, which salutes their team of front-line workers and provides an inside look at their valiant efforts to care for patients during the pandemic. Television spots aired from July 6 - 26 on News 12 and an array of cable networks.
