(BALDWIN, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) joined the Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and Manny Alvarez, President of Kolstein Music, Inc., to celebrate the grand reopening of Samuel Kolstein & Son Violin Makers in Baldwin on Tuesday, Feb. 4.
In 1943, when Samuel Kolstein launched Kolstein Music in Brooklyn in 1943, the music store specialized in manufacturing violins and bows. Since then, the business has grown to encompass the manufacturing and repair of a wide variety of stringed instruments. Based in Baldwin since 1980, Kolstein Music offers a selection of fine violins, violas, cellos and basses, as well as bows, cases, and other accessories.
“During his six-decade career, Samuel Kolstein built an extraordinary legacy among musicians. I am thrilled to see that this tradition of craftsmanship and excellence continues to thrive,” Legislator Mulé said. “I encourage all residents to visit Kolstein Music in Baldwin to learn about the history of Samuel Kolstein and the rich history of instrument making in our community.”
