(FREEPORT, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) attended the annual Village of Freeport Fall Festival, Halloween parade and Fire Expo on Sunday, Oct. 27. Held on the Nautical Mile, the event gave participants a chance to meet Freeport firefighters and EMTs, see firetrucks on display, and witness various demonstrations throughout the day by Freeport FD volunteers. The fall fair and parade, replete with “family fun, good eats, and sweet treats,” included a chowder contest at the Esplanade and trunk-or-treating for youngsters.
“With Halloween fast approaching and the holidays on the horizon, this part of autumn is a magical time of year – especially for our kids,” Legislator Koslow said. “Freeport has always done a tremendous job creating a safe and welcoming environment for the Halloween season, and it creates a great platform for our partners at the Freeport FD to inform the public and promote the amazing tradition of Long Island’s volunteer fire service. Thank you to everyone who contributes to making this a great success year after year!”
