(MINEOLA, N.Y.) – On Wednesday, Nov. 29, New York State Governor Kathy Hochul announced her request for a Major Disaster Declaration related to a substantial late-September rainstorm that deluged Nassau County.

“September’s unprecedented rainstorm and the flooding it caused brought a tremendously negative impact upon the lives of numerous families in our community and across Nassau County. Very simply, they need to be made whole,” Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) said. “I am encouraged that the Governor continues to recognize the gravity of this situation, and I look forward to working with the state and my constituents to ensure that resources reach the areas of greatest need.”
