WHAT - Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) is partnering with NuHealth and local community organizations to host a breast cancer screening event at the Baldwin Historical Museum on Wednesday, April 27. Appointments include a breast exam from a nurse, a mammography, and self-exam instructions.
Mammograms will be available for eligible women over the age of 40 at no out-of-pocket cost; attendees with health insurance must provide a prescription from a physician, and anyone who can obtain them should bring film from past exams.
Sisters in Health, a counseling and education initiative through Adelphi University, will be on site distributing $25 gift cards to anyone with an appointment. Screenings will be available from 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. by appointment only.
