WHAT - As part of a weekend-long celebration of Earth Day, Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) and New York State Assemblywoman Judy Griffin are inviting residents, park lovers and environmentalists to join them in giving Freeport’s Brookside Preserve some springtime TLC during an upcoming community clean-up hosted by her office.
Garbage bags and plastic gloves will be provided by organizers; participants are encouraged to bring pokers, rakes, grabbers and other supplemental tools. To safeguard against ticks and other hazards, attendees are encouraged to wear long sleeves, pants, socks and other protective attire.
