(ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y.) - Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) recently recognized Village of Rockville Centre Deputy Mayor Kathy Baxley for her contributions to the Fifth Legislative District. In addition to her role in Rockville Centre, Kathy is a board member of the Rockville Centre Breast Cancer Coalition, the Ryan Patrick O’Shea Foundation, and the RVC Community Fund.
“During the month of March, we celebrated Women’s History Month by recognizing the female leaders who make a tremendous difference on a daily basis in the Fifth Legislative District,” Legislator Mulé said. “I was delighted to recognize Kathy Baxley’s for her many contributions as a public servant in Rockville Centre and her regional impact as a community activist.”
On March 26, Deputy Mayor Baxley participated in “Women in Politics - Our Journey” - a Women’s History Month virtual panel hosted by Legislator Mulé’s office. Additional panelists included Nassau County Executive Laura Curran, Freeport School Board President Vilma Lancaster and Baldwin School Board Trustee Annie Doresca. Panelists discussed their motivations for seeking public office, challenges they faced in doing so, and the highlights of their service.
