(BETHPAGE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé joined County Executive Laura Curran and Legislator Arnold Drucker to launch an eco-friendly and cost-effective “Goats on the Go” program on Friday, July 17. This unique and innovative approach to managing dense, overgrown brush involves allowing six goats to graze on hard-to-reach and unwanted vegetation on the grounds of the Bethpage Village Restoration.
“Implementing this “Goats on the Go” program highlights Nassau County’s commitment to fiscally prudent, environmentally responsible solutions for preventing the spread of invasive, harmful species at our parks and preserves,” Legislator Mulé said. “I am proud to support this initiative and look forward to bringing this initiative to other parts of the county, including the Brookside Preserve.”
