(Baldwin, NY) – Legislator Laura Curran and the Nassau County Department of Public Works are co-hosting the second public open house on the Baldwin Downtown & Commercial Corridor Resiliency Study. The meeting will be held on Wednesday April 5th, 2017 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Cafeteria A of the Baldwin Senior High School (841 Ethel T. Kloberg Drive, Baldwin.)
The Baldwin DCCR Study is identifying opportunities for economic revitalization and storm resiliency in Baldwin’s commercial corridors. Attendees will be able to see how the public’s preferences and ideas at the last open house were incorporated into the study. Recommendations will cover topics such as land use and zoning, walkability and traffic calming, green infrastructure, and more.
“With almost 200 people attending our open house last fall, it is clear the Baldwin community is ready to see improvements to its business districts,” Curran said. “Using the extensive public feedback we received, our project team has put together a promising suite of recommendations that will set Baldwin on the path towards additional economic investment and storm resiliency. I look forward to another great turnout on April 5th!”
