Koslow and Mule - Adopt a Cop 1

FREEPORT, N.Y. – Nassau County Legislators Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) and Seth I. Koslow (D – Merrick) joined Freeport Elementary School’s fourth graders at the Freeport Recreation Center on Thursday, June 13 to commemorate the Freeport Police Department’s annual “Adopt-A-Cop” program. The event marks the culmination of a yearlong initiative that strengthens bonds and builds trust between young people and their local law enforcement professionals.

“For decades, I have been thrilled to witness the growth of the Adopt-A-Cop program and the tremendous impact it has upon our youth and our entire community,” Legislator Mulé said. “Communication, education and awareness are essential for strong police-community bonds, and I applaud the Freeport community for its proactive efforts to establish those relationships.”

“Programs like Adopt-a-Cop educate our young students about law enforcement and help to build trust between community members and the people who serve and protect them,” Legislator Koslow said. “It is wonderful to see that Freeport fosters these relationships from such a young age, and efforts like these are instrumental in building safer, more united communities for everyone.”
