Nassau County Legislator Bill Gaylor and the members of the Nassau County Legislature honored three Police Medics and four Nassau County Police Officers for saving the life of a 13-year-old girl who was found not breathing at her home in Westbury. After performing CPR and administering cardiac medication, the girl was rushed to the hospital and was diagnosed with a congenital defect called ALCAPA. It is a very rate defect where some pathways between the heart and lungs are reversed. She has undergone corrective cardiac surgery and her health is progressing.
