(BALDWIN, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) is encouraging residents to give the gift of life at her upcoming New York Blood Center blood drive at the Baldwin Fire Department, 2386 Grand Avenue, Baldwin, N.Y. 11510 from 3 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 3. All donors will receive a $10 gift card as thanks for donating.
Eligible donors must have an ID with a signature or a photo, weigh at least 110 pounds, have had no tattoos in the last 12 months and be ages 16-75 years of age (16-year-old donors must have parental consent. Donors over age 76 must bring a doctor’s note.) O-negative and B-negative donors are especially needed in addition to all other blood types.
“Long Island’s persistent blood emergency continues to demand our attention, and it remains critically important for donors to support events like our upcoming blood drive to combat the shortage,” Legislator Mulé said. “Every donation we collect will save lives, and I am proud to once again be partnering with the Baldwin Fire Department and the New York Blood Center to make a difference in our community. Let’s roll up our sleeves and give the gift of life!”
