(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) toured The NEST at Nassau Community College on Tuesday, Oct. 22. Short for “Nassau: Empowerment and Support for Tomorrow,” NEST is a 501 (c)3 not-for-profit organization focused on promoting health and wellness by maintaining a free-choice food pantry that provides food, personal care items, and support services to students, employees, and families in need. Their philanthropic efforts are supported by the College community, Long Island Cares and Island Harvest, corporate donors, civic and religious organizations, and more.
“It was truly inspiring to experience the dedication of the volunteers in this effort and witness their commitment to creating a nurturing and impactful environment that respects the dignity of everyone they serve,” Legislator Mulé said. “Thank you to director Sharon Masrour and her entire team for all you do to empower your student volunteers and strengthen our community!”
