WHAT: Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D - Freeport) is hosting National Night Out at Baldwin Senior High School in partnership with the Baldwin Civic Association, the Nassau County Police Department, Baldwin Fire Department, the Nassau County Police Benevolent Association (PBA) and an array of community stakeholders on Tuesday, Aug. 6.
For more than four decades, National Night Out events have been held in thousands of communities each year on the first Tuesday in August as a crime prevention and awareness initiative that seeks to promote “police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.” National Night Out enhances relationships between law enforcement and communities by bringing police and residents together in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
In addition to free food, games, vendors, and face painting and a DJ sponsored by Vineyard Offshore Energy, there will be demonstrations by the Nassau County Police Department and Baldwin Fire Department amongst an array of other family-friendly activities.
“Across America, National Night Out is a cherished community tradition that does so much to strengthen bonds between communities and the law enforcement professionals that are entrusted with serving and protecting them,” Legislator Mulé said. “I am so grateful that the Nassau County Police Department, the Nassau County PBA, Baldwin Fire Department and Baldwin Civic Association continue to embrace this event so strongly, and I hope to see everyone at Baldwin High School for another great National Night Out!”
