WHAT – Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) encourages residents to sign up for a New York State Citizen Preparedness Corps workshop at the Roosevelt Public Library, which is set for 6 – 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 6.
The workshops are designed to equip residents with the tools and resources to prepare for any type of natural or man-made disaster, respond accordingly, and recover as quickly as possible to pre-disaster conditions. Each family participating will receive a free Citizen Preparedness Corps Response Starter Kit filled with emergency prep essentials like a radio, flashlight, batteries, freshwater packets, food packs, heavy-duty gloves, tarp, emergency blanket, water container, glow stick and whistle.
“Living in a coastal community myself, I know firsthand how preparing proactively for emergencies is essential for protecting your family and giving yourself peace of mind as you go about your daily life,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “New York State Citizen Preparedness Corps workshops are an outstanding resource for our residents, and I encourage everyone to sign up today for this upcoming session at the Roosevelt Library.”
