(BALDWIN, N.Y.) – In observance of the Week of the Young Child, Nassau County Legislature Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) visited the Lightbridge Academy in Baldwin as a special guest reader. During her visit, she read “The Urban Owls” by her longtime friend and fellow Uniondale High School Class of 1980 graduate Christian Cooper, host of the Emmy-award winning Disney+ series “Extraordinary Birder.”
“This annual celebration, which was launched by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, puts a spotlight on the importance of early childhood education and its value to our children and the future of our society,” Alternate Deputy Minority Leader Mulé said. “Thank you to the Lightbridge Academy for inviting me participate – and thank you to Christian for writing such a wonderful book to share with the children!”
