(BALDWIN, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislature Deputy Minority Leader Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) and Legislator Olena Nicks (D – Uniondale) joined the Nassau Community College Alumni Association in Baldwin on Thursday, April 24 for their “Year of the Alumni” gala. Deputy Minority Leader Drucker and Legislator Nicks presented Nassau County Legislature Citations to the evening’s honorees, Alumni Association co-founders Warren S. Hoffman, Esq. ’79 and Lawrence R. Engel ’84, and Legacy Award winner Kathryn Newman.
“Whether they are just starting out or returning to the classroom to pursue a new passion, Nassau Community College has been a beacon of opportunity for generations – and the leaders of the Alumni Association are committed to sustaining and enriching those opportunities for future generations,” Deputy Minority Leader Drucker, who served on the Nassau Community College Board of Trustees from 2012 until joining the Legislature in 2016, said. “It was an honor to once again join with the Alumni Association as they celebrated the tremendously positive impact that Nassau Community College graduates are making in so many walks of life.”
“Nassau Community College has given countless Long Islanders affordable access to higher education resources that propel their lives to greater heights,” Legislator Nicks said. “I applaud the honorees who have paid their success forward through their commitment to the Alumni Association and embody the College’s importance through their work in the world around them.”
