(UNIONDALE, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker (D – Plainview) celebrated the grand re-opening of the Cluster C complex at Nassau Community College during a ribbon-cutting ceremony held on Thursday, Nov. 16.
Cluster C, a high-tech learning center and STEM education hub, recently underwent a $31 million transformation that created an innovative, cutting-edge academic environment for students and faculty. Funding was provided by both Nassau County and the State University of New York. The three-story, 61,900 square-foot building contains STEM laboratories, computer classrooms, green roofs, a wind turbine, a planetarium, and an outdoor observatory. College officials said that nearly every NCC student will take at least one course in Cluster C before graduating.
“Cutting-edge innovations like the Cluster C complex will further enrich the outstanding academic experience provided by Nassau Community College and make this an even more attractive destination for students,” Legislator Drucker said. “It is always a pleasure to support NCC through our work in the Nassau County Legislature, and it was a privilege to herald the grand opening of this important facility.”
Legislator Drucker previously served on the Nassau Community College Board of Trustees from late 2012 until resigning in December 2016 after being elected to the Nassau County Legislature.
