In less than a week, the donations bins at Grant Park for the County Legislature’s Ukrainian Relief Drive have overflowed with supplies for those under Russian invasion in Ukraine. Nassau County Legislator Bill Gaylor, whose district includes Grant Park in Hewlett, helped pack the supplies up. After the drive ends, the supplies from all the County parks will be given to the Polish Consulate to send to Europe.
The drive runs until March 25th, and boxes are located at Eisenhower Park, Wantagh Park, Christopher Morley Park, Grant Park, Nickerson Park, Cantiague Park and the Theodore Roosevelt Executive and Legislative Building. No food or clothing will be accepted.
“The outpouring of support we’ve seen from people for the Ukrainian relief effort is heart-warming,” Legislator Gaylor said. “Thank you to everyone that has donated so far to this relief drive. Thank you for helping the people of Ukraine.”
