(BALDWIN, N.Y.) – Nassau County Legislator Debra Mulé (D – Freeport) joined with the Baldwin community on Saturday, March 23 as they launched their annual Relay for Life campaign with a fundraiser at The Irish Pub.
The Baldwin Relay benefits the American Cancer Society and is part of a nationwide campaign in which more than a quarter million Relayers support the not-for-profit organization’s mission. Since its inception in 1985, Relay for Life has raised more than $6.8 billion in the fight to save lives from cancer.
“Across our country and right here in Baldwin, Relays for Life play such a critical role in raising awareness about cancer and marshaling resources in the fight to save lives from this devastating disease,” Legislator Mulé said. “I applaud Abby and Miguel Melendez for their leadership and thank everyone who is stepping up to support this vital cause – one that has touched all of our lives.”
